During the summer of 2014, 99.1 The Fun One - WDZD was granted permission by the FCC to build Monroe's first FM community radio station.  In December of 2021 The Fun One added 94.3 to it's reach in Union County and created Fun One Radio. 

 

The Fun One has also won the Radio Station of The Year Award for the past three consecutive years! The Fun One is on the air as WDZD-LP in Monroe and currently operates at 99.1 and 94.3 on the FM dial in Union County.

 

We also have global reach with our online listeners via our website at wdzdfm.org and with our free Fun One app for your smartphone or tablet, available from your favorite app store.  Our online listenership has grown significantly each year. Fun One Radio broadcasts the best music with local personalities playing Classic HIts and Carolina Beach Music.

As a non-commercial broadcaster, The Fun One operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization through Shaggers, Inc. and depends on donations, sponsorships and underwriting for support Donations are tax deductible .  

 

Our underwriting sponsorships provide local businesses with affordable exposure that focuses on your products, services, your location and contact information.  Most of our underwriting partners find our approach more descriptive and personal compared to traditional commercial broadcasters.
